This picture was painted by John Gadsby Champman. I love the symbology and nuances in it. The portayal says so many things....Pocohontas herself looks so forlorn. This was a turning back of everything she knew and the need to embrace a new God. I assume she knew what she was doing. I also love her brother...huddled in the shadows.
